Infrequently asked questions

Q: As Hund is masculine, not neuter, shouldn't it be "der Hunde". If you want to say "The three dogs", should it not be "Die drei Hunde"?
 -soundcloud user

A: Hey thanks for the question. "Die drei hunde" would mean "the tree dogs" whereas the name should translate as "The three-dog" (dog being singular in this case), for further info please see here.  And just to say, it should be "neutral" not "neuter".

Response: A direct translation of "the three-dog" would be "Der drei-hund"

Q:  Whats that awesome synth sound you use on Terminal Code and All My Sins, and how do you get it.

A:  Hey, thanks for the question.  That is the sound you get when you route a microkorg back into its self via a Russian Big Muff.

Q:  Yo bitch! First time listener, long time blogging, your stuff is like the bestest shoe gaze electro stuff with some dub like ever (apart from MBV, postal service, spacemen 3, wedding present, the telescopes, swervedriver, slowdive, swerve, navel view Xteria, the plums, the delay monkey, Sarah Kane Blackface and colour me red-cunt), when can i expect more?

A: Hey thanks for the question.  We are currently working on a new EP of mostly gabba and early 90's trip hop, provisionally titled "Songs about mental illness for guitar and keyboard".

Q:  What is this "Linux" with which you bore us with?

A:  Hey, thanks for the question.  It should be "Based on linux kernal systems".  These are free (as in open source) and normally don't cost anything to use (although it is nice to give a donation).  I've used a variety of systems, Arch, Dream Studio Linux (in which i replace Unity with XFCE), and AVlinux.  I wouldn't recommend Arch if you plan on using your machine purely for doing music, video etc as alot of programmes are not easily available on Arch (no, not even in the AUR, ok most of the stuff is in the AUR), and the version of LMMS last time i checked didn't come with Vestige Plug-in, which is pretty useful.

Main programmes I use are Ardour (DAW similar to pro tools) for mixing and mastering with Jamin (mastering tool with multiband eq, multiband compressor and look ahead limiter). LMMS  (similar to FLS) for some of the Drums and synths and Audacity for chopping WAV's.
